It almost seems too simple, but it's true: When you practice consciously moving your body or eating well, you feel better and you look better.
At Practice we hold to the idea that you have a best self inside you that is happy, confident, empowered, creative, and endowed with a great number of freedoms and abilities. We offer practice as one effective way for helping you to make contact with your best self and bring it to the fore.
We live in a culture oriented strongly toward instant gratification and quick fixes. At the same time, our lifestyles have become increasingly complex and chaotic. Life practices like Pilates, yoga, or eating well serve to ground us when the chaos of the day might otherwise unseat us.
The secondary gains and long term benefits we derive from these practices help us to see through the false promises of instant gratification. And as we develop and grow in our practices, we gain access to a degree of life satisfaction and meaning that had previously been unrecognizable.
When we tell our children that in order to be successful in something they need to practice, don't we intend practice or "good study habits" as a skill that they can can use all their lives? Isn't this what our parents intended for us? They said it, and we say it, because we have all experienced the benefits of practice at some point in our lives and we know it works.
At Practice, we believe that our children will get the message when they see how well it works for us.
